Ourlads' Profile:
2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about ALLEN LAZARD: Iowa State, 6045 227 4.57. Four-year starter from Urbandale, IA. Followed in his father Kevin’s footsteps and played for the Cyclones. Has an exceptionally large frame and great size. Smart player who seems to make press snap reads and displayed football instincts with his play. Uncovers and creates separation with understanding of his route concept, combined with using his body and strong hand play to control defenders at the top of the route. After beating press coverage with strong hands he uses body and route strength to save the sideline for vertical throws. The big-bodied physical and athletic outside receiver is an elite red zone threat. Has an elite catch radius using his leaping ability and strong set of hands to win 50/50 balls. Tracks the ball downfield with skill and uses hands to control defensive backs while he makes an adjustment to the ball. Made a career of making contested catches in tight spaces. Can contribute and be effective blocking in the run game. He has just average long speed. Short area quickness doesn't always show up despite his Combine short shuttle.. Has some stiffness and plays upright, doesn’t sink his hips well when running routes because of big frame. Overall he is a big, physical outside receiver who is an elite red zone threat. 2017 stats: 71-941, 13.3 ypr, 10 TD. OSR:8/45. Fourth/ fifth round. (A-32 1/4, H-9 3/4, VJ-38, SS-4.33).
