Has good size for a safety but may be well suited for a hybrid nickel linebacker role. Physical safety with quick run-pass reads. Gets downhill in a hurry and takes top level pass drops. At his best in the short flat with zone awareness getting under deep routes and breaking on the short throw. Can close voids well getting under deeper intermediate routes from the other side and breaking on a crossing route. Does a good job rerouting receivers up the field. Not quite as good in man coverage as the quicker receiver can separate from him on double moves. Does a decent job with tight ends and most backs in the slot. Is physical in man cover and can get grabby reacting to a cut. Could have problems with illegal contact calls. Not often used in deep coverage but will play deep quarters at times and is adequate but not his best spot. His backpedal maintains cushion and he reacts well coming forward. Shows good ball skills for the interception and pass break. Quick in his break and drive and does a good job timing his reaction to the catch point. In run support he is very aggressive with a quick reaction to his key. Takes on blocks using his hands and length to get separation and shed. Adequate but not sudden change of direction. Takes good angles in pursuit and has solid tackling skills. Lays some big hits. Has knee bend and finish on his tackles. Good effort player, who does not give up on plays, has made some touchdown saving plays from behind. Shows blitz skill, timing the snap and getting up field. Chases well and adjusts to quarterback movement. Projects to a hybrid nickel linebacker or possibly a Will at the next level. 2017 stats: 94 T, 7.5 TFL, 1 sack, 4 PBU, 4 QBH, 2 FF, 3 INT.
