Ourlads' Profile:
2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JAWAAN TAYLOR: Florida, 6050 312 5.25. Junior entry and three year starter from Cocoa, FL. Has seen the majority of his action on the right side and that is where he likely ends up in the pros. Taylor is massive and can dominate on contact time after time. When his lower body is bent enough which keeps his feet in the game, there isn’t much that can be done to beat him in pass protection. The awareness and confidence are apparent, as he never seems to lose himself no matter who he is matched up against. Has as high a ceiling as any lineman in this entire class as long he puts the work in to shore up simple, but vital, technique components. Comfortably enormous on all levels. Carries a lot of weight with ease, as it is spread out from head to toe evenly. Tree trunk legs and bear paw hands. Consistent set up in pass protection with active feet, balance, and accurate drop backs. Absorbs contact like a rock. Rarely thrown off balance or pushed back on initial contact. Good vision and patience. Stays at home and will let the action come to him but is always ready to strike a blow. A true finisher. Wants to dominate and own his man. Hands are glued to his target and he delivers quite the blow with them. Struggles to make an impact at the second level in the running game. Angles are off and his hands get too wide. Not a comfortable lateral adjuster. Needs to pay more attention to knee bend and pad level. Penalties are too frequent. Medical exclusion at Combine, left hamstring. First round. (A-35 1/8, H-10, BP-24, 10-DNP).
