Virginia Tech, 6077 319 5.41. Three-year starter Crozet, VA. Earned Honorable Mention All-ACC honors in 2021. Has a unique frame that may be too long for his own good. Does not have natural bend in his ankles or knees, making it very tough for him to win leverage battles. Also comes across heavy-footed, which will make life difficult protecting the edge in the NFL. Played both right and left tackle, but he will have trouble dealing with the suddenness of the league. He is a training camp body that will need time on the practice squad. Standout size and frame that can easily hold on to more mass. Has a nasty edge to him that will overwhelm defenders when he has things lined up. Capable of overpowering run blocking. Knows to get and keep his hands inside. Will stay in phase up the edge as a pass blocker. Does not evade his technique below the waist. Avoids oversetting. Several issues come from his combination of height and tight lower body joints. Flexion at both his knees and ankles make it tough for him to get low enough. Has a hard time mirroring quick defenders that can change direction well. Too easy to push back, lacks the anchor.
