Ourlads' Profile:

2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about KHALEKE HUDSON: Michigan, 5110 224 4.55. Three-year starter, McKeesport, PA. Was second-team All-Big 10 while leading the team in tackles in 2019. Played the Viper position in the Michigan defense which is like the NFL nickel/hybrid. Has rotated into deep hole coverage in situations. Primarily an end man on the line of scrimmage defender and will match up to slot receivers and tight ends. Has lined up in the box on occasion. Outstanding in run support which is a key to the position he plays. Quick with initial read he finds the ball. Plays with knee bend and flashes quick hands to take on bigger blockers and shed working to the ball. Has range in pursuit and can close with a burst. Blitzes with anticipation at the snap and can close in the backfield. Has man cover skill and can match receivers across the field and up the seam. Plays both press and off man on tight ends and slots. Physical disrupting routes with jam and run. Re-directs well on route breaks and can accelerate breaking on a cut. As a flat zone defender shows a quick break on the ball and prevents short flat catches from turning up the field. Can be overaggressive and bite on a double move. Can be grabby in man cover if beaten on a cut. Will take a false step at times reacting and struggle versus a bigger blocker. Rarely out of position but occasionally runs around a block opening up a lane. Size and arm length are issues if he is to be anything but a hybrid/nickel. Outstanding in kick coverage with ability to gather and tackle in space. Has blocked eight punts in his career. Projects as a sub package/special teams player. Senior Bowl notes: Got most of his work as a box safety/ hybrid and was at his best fitting the running lanes. Flashed hand use and shed ability on the move. Made several plays in space during the week and game. Solid range in flat coverage. 2019 stats: 101 T, 3 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 3 PBU, 3 QBH, 1 BK. Edge speed:left 2.00, right 2.19. OSR:8/19. Fifth/sixth round. (A-29 3/8, H-10, BP-30, SS-DNP).
