Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about AR'DARIUS WASHINGTON: TCU, 5082 178 4.62. Junior entry, two year starter, Shreveport, LA. While small statured his instincts, toughness and technique make up for the size issue. Has played mostly in deep coverage in a one or two high scheme, often variations of Cover 4 and 2. Will occasionally roll into the box in some coverage. His change of direction and quickness puts him in position to make a lot plays. Uses a quick shuffle pedal and is quick to come out of it with no wasted movement. Adept at balancing routes in deep zones with outstanding awareness. Does a good job seeing the quarterback and route combinations while closing off voids in between zones. Quick in transition he easily flips his hips to get over the top with the ball in the air. Can match up and out leap taller receivers playing the ball. Sudden to break on the ball he attacks the catch point and has quick hands going for the interception. Has been very productive. Has shown man to man skill with eye discipline to focus on the receiver. With stop-start quickness and agility he tracks downhill and across the field to make plays in space. Physical in run support he is an explosive tackler launching into ball carriers with gather and finish. The size issue does show up at times tackling and in chase mode. Rarely misses a tackle but occasionally will bounce off a tackle against a physical back. Lack of length shows up in chase mode as he has some trouble making plays from behind. He can usually slip blocks on the move but if squared up has a tough time shedding. Some teams may shy away due to size but he’s a player with the tools and skill of a solid NFL starter. 2020 stats: 37 T, 1 TFL, 5 PBU. Fourth/fifth round. (A-29 1/4, H-9 1/2, VJ-37.5, SS-4.10).
