Ourlads' Profile:
2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JOHN COMINSKY: Charleston (WV), 6052 286 4.70. Four year starter from Barberton, OH. The former high school quarterback has gained over 70 pounds in his time at Charleston and slowly but surely progressed each year. His career ended with three straight All-Mountain East honors including a senior season where he won the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year Award. Even though he has five years of training and playing experience on the defensive side, he is still a bit of a developmental prospect that has a lot of work to do from a technique standpoint. With that said, players at his size and speed with his kind of hustle simply don’t come around often. He lined up all over the defensive line and that kind of role will carry over to the NFL. High upside pick that can be trusted based on hustle and grit. Powerfully and athletically built well enough to handle all the rigors and demands of the NFL trenches. Long and strong with much more room to grow. A true athlete for the position that can be put into multiple roles along the front. Excellent straight line speed in space that he couples with aggression and anger. Plays the game hard all the time. Closes in on the ball carrier quickly and brings all the power with him when he does so. Does a nice job of ball location. Smart and savvy, good natural flow. Plays too high and exposes a lot of his midsection to blockers which he won’t get away with in the pros. 2018 stats: 67 T, 16.5 TFL, 3 sacks, 2 FF. Edge speed:left 2.10, right 2.13. OSR:11/31. Sixth/ seventh round. (A-33 1/2, H-9 3/4, BP-22, 10-1.71).
