Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about CHRIS PAUL:
Tulsa, 6037 323 4.89. Four-year starter, Houston, TX. Played two years at guard and two at tackle. Second-team All-AAC in 2020, honorable mention in 2021. Can project to both tackle and guard at the next level, but the lack of natural speed and fluidity may keep him inside predominantly. He can play a heavy game with his ability to anchor against power and get movement off the ball. Plays with disciplined and repeatable techniques with both his hands and feet, promoting a constant sense of control and balance. As he continues to develop his power and confidence with the initial hand strike, he can eventually be a starting caliber player or be able to provide inside-out versatility as a backup. Mechanically sound and big enough to create a high-floor outlook. Wide frame with quality weight distribution throughout. Plays a heavy, dense game that controls his ground well. Shows the ability to screw his feet into the ground against the bull rush. Just athletic enough to move laterally up the edge in pass protection without losing his center of gravity. Patient, stays within himself. Disciplined with his hands. Keeps them up and ready and consistently attacks the chest plate of his target. Knees stay bent and the chest stays up. Struggles against pure speed to his outside shoulder. Late to get that outside foot down and will end up in chase mode. Needs to be more violent with his punch. More of a receiver than a deliverer when it comes to initial contact.
OSR:10/51. Fifth/sixth round. (A-33 5/8, H-9 3/8, BP-26, 10-1.70).
