Central Florida, 6010 302 4.98. Two-year starter, Pensacola, FL. Sat out the 2020 season because of Covid-19. Came back strong in 2021 but tore his ACL week five, forcing him to miss the rest of the season. So, he’s played just five games since the end of 2019, the year he started to break out and show how good of a penetrating force he could be. The former linebacker has seen action all over the front seven. Played Mike, Will, and Sam before transitioning to playing with his hand in the dirt. Once there, he began at defensive end and found his home as a three-technique. That will be his home at the next level, where his penetrating and forceful impact will be a handful for blockers to handle. His low center of gravity and long arms will create multiple options for him post-snap. If the knee checks out and the skill set continues the current trajectory, he can be a starting interior lineman or at least a sub-package interior rusher early in his career. Possesses an ideal frame for the role and style he plays with. Fires off the ball in a hurry with easy bend, creating tremendous force that will stand blockers up and create a new line of scrimmage. Wins the initial battle routinely. Can evade the blocker’s punch with a turn of his torso and hips. Easy full body movement in any direction. Shows effective hand work with a combination of accuracy, quickness, and power. Has the closing gear to call on when he smells blood in the water. Overall energy output declines in a hurry when he is on the field for a lot of consecutive plays. Struggles as a stay-at-home defender against the double team. Needs more lower body strength and overall awareness.
