Will project to a motion-tight end at the next level. His best blocking performances are on the move in space, as he matches up well enough against speed and quickness. A savvy receiver with enough shake and suddenness at the top of his routes to create some separation. Won’t need much, as his ball skills and contact presence at the catch point look sturdy and reliable. Despite coming off an ACL injury and surgery, this is a long-term player who will be in the league beyond his rookie deal as a solid number two tight end. Sneaky, savvy athletic ability that can change his gears based on the situation. Strong and sturdy build with a man’s contact presence. Holds his ground as a power blocker with active feet and a strong lockout. Excels even further as a blocker on the move. Quick enough to stick to linebackers and defensive backs and will physically overwhelm them with a strong grip and powerful base. Routinely makes the high-level catch on the move. Quick to turn upfield once he gets the ball. Frame appears to be maxed out and will likely be below the ideal measurements for the position. Does not have elite strength or speed to make a major difference as either a blocker or receiver. May need a specific role at the next level to keep him away from repeated situations. Lacks push in the trenches and lacks loose wiggle as a route runner.
