Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about LUKE WATTENBERG:

Washington, 6040 299 5.20. Five-year starter, Trabuco Canyon, CA. Began his career at guard before transitioning to center in 2020. Honorable Mention All-Pac 12 the past two seasons. Will be attractive to teams that use a lot of zone blocking. A fluid, easy moving athlete off the snap who maintains a solid sense of balance and control at the second level. His ability to peel off the line and move with the second level of a defense can be a weapon. His lack of bulk and staying power often showed up against bigger defensive linemen. While that is an issue right now, he has a frame and high baseline skill set that is worth trying to develop. He may be a draft and stash talent destined for the practice squad for a year or two, but he could very well end up being the important interior backup for a team within two years. Comfortable athlete on the move. Reaches the second level quickly with full control and power. Snappy out of his stance with quick hands. Natural bender with light feet. Should be able to add considerable bulk to his frame in time. Has plus length for the inside and is not currently near the potential of using it as a weapon. Competitive streak and plus-intelligence. Possesses a solid base to work with and has position versatility on his resume. Lacks a natural power base. Has a hard time maintaining his ground against the bull rush. Needs work on his footwork when it comes to lateral adjustments in pass protection. Does not latch onto the big boys in the trenches. Sustaining quality hand contact appears difficult.

OSR:19/51. Sixth/seventh round. (A-34 3/8, H-9 3/8, BP-DNP, 10-1.71).
