Nevada, 6064 249 4.76. Two-year starter, Clackamas, OR. Earned All-Mountain West honors the past two seasons. Has the body of either an oversized wide receiver or undersized tight end. Throw in the fact he mostly lined up in the slot away from the defensive line, and we are looking at a hybrid space-dependent player. Will not survive against pro defensive ends and outside linebackers as a blocker. His value will revolve around making plays on the ball downfield. Does not have blazing speed or explosive traits, but does have quality tape in contested situations. For teams that reserve a role for a tight end that lines up split out, he will be an intriguing player to try and develop over the course of two or three years. Tall and long frame that has room for additional muscle mass once he gets into a pro strength training program. Wide catch radius. Has the skill set of a receiver when attacking the ball in the air. Plays ultra-aware of the defenders and boundaries with easy alterations to the action. Can twist and turn his body with a natural sense of control and balance. Tracks the ball over his shoulder well and that will show up on seam routes. Can make the spectacular, high difficulty catch in traffic consistently. Has a soft gut and thin legs. Will not get much movement as a blocker. Lacks the acceleration with his feet post-engagement and his height will make it difficult to win the leverage battle. Too many concentration drops. Rarely lined up with his hand in the dirt.
