His production was somewhat a product of the scheme he played in with a lot of easy catches. However, a deeper look into the film and there is a reel of high difficulty catches down the field in traffic. He is an athletic, natural receiver with soft hands, dropping just one pass out of 79 targets in 2021. The issue with him revolves around blocking and overall size. His grades there are low and he does not seem overly interested in impacting the play unless he is a target in the passing game. Can make it as a move-tight end but with fewer and fewer teams using that kind of weapon, the demand for his services will be low. In the right system, Likely can be a sneaky-good option. Strong upper body with ultra-soft hands. A welcoming target for quarterbacks that runs his routes with his hands ready to pounce. Rarely lets the ball hit the turf if he comes in contact with it. Adjusts well, natural twists and turns. Plays with a solid catch radius. Nimble and balanced footwork show up after the catch and while running routes. Easy flow in and out of breaks and seamlessly brings the ball in as he turns up field. Shows plus-balance and late movement after the catch. Ineffective blocker at the line of scrimmage. Looks like he is hugging a pillow in the run game. Gets driven back with ease, does not sustain quality contact, and the effort is not there. Not big enough for traditional tight end roles. Many catches were uncontested.
