Michigan, 6002 228 4.55. One-year starter, St. Louis, MO. Became the starter for the Wolverines late in the 2020 season, and had a better follow-up year last fall. A bigger back, who is more workhorse than dynamic threat, was productive within the revamped Michigan run game system, earning third-team All-America honors. A downhill physical runner who ran with patience and forced defenders to gang tackle him with regularity. Did not display much wiggle, instead choosing to wear down defenses and defenders with sheer physicality. Has a vicious stiff-arm that he uses at appropriate times. Runs with great forward lean and often delivers or initiates contact. Lacks long speed and maybe even buildup speed. Displays limited route running ability, but sure hands and ability to track the ball on swing passes. Has good contact balance and is often able to keep runs alive fighting through first contact. Lacks lateral moves, or at least does not make those moves with command and authority. Running style leads to heavy contacts and collisions which he does not shy away from. A straight-line runner who would rather bruise than elude. Competent fit would be a one move-and-go zone running scheme, where he is the complement back and can thrive in his role as a bruiser. Struggles with lateral movement in pass protection, easily defeated by in and out moves of blitzing defenders. A consistent and disciplined track runner, whose limitations are all off his track and path, who excels when he is on his downhill track and path, delivering contact to defenders.
