Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about DANIEL FAALELE:

Minnesota, 6080 384 5.30. Three-year starter, Melbourne, Australia. Opted out in 2020 because of Covid-19. He will stand out because of his rare size. What makes him even more intriguing, however, is the fact he started playing football for the first time in 2016 with his first game action occurring a year later. Moves off the ball exceptionally well for a player of his size. The baseline athletic ability is good enough but where he struggles is when unplanned adjustment and lateral shifts of weight are needed. That, along with the likelihood of eventual injury playing at such a heavy weight, is why he will need to shed a few pounds before being depended on. He can win a lot of battles because of his mass and natural power, but the speed and complexity of the NFL will expose movement issues too often if he stays on his current path. He has upside and potential as a power blocker. Rare size and overall mass for the position. Enormous weight number is well distributed throughout the entire frame. Has ankles that are thicker than some thighs. Quick feet tap the ground post-snap with surprising ease and nimbleness. Can move well in a straight line. Fast to a point with good body control and balance, maximizing his near 400-pound structure. An absolute boulder in the run game that will still create movement if hands are inaccurate or late. When his hands are accurate, the firmness to his grip is elite. As wide as he is tall, simply a tough distance for a defender to get around. A hard blocker to get off his point. Will likely need to lose weight for multiple reasons before being put on the field against pro pass rushers. Lateral movement is poor. Loses balance and chest will fall behind hips when doing so. Adjustment speed looks labored and unnatural. Will play too tall, further enhancing the lack of lateral fluidity. Contact with quicker defenders is not sticky enough.

Second/third round. (A-35 1/8, H-11, BP-24, 10-2.04).
