Houston, 5080 174 4.50. Three-year starter, Enterprise, AL. Transfer from Troy in 2019. First-team All-AAC in 2021 as well as AAC defensive back and special team player of the year. Undersized corner who has been a prolific kick and punt returner during his college career. Extremely quick reactions he has played both slot and outside corner. Played mostly off man and zone but had significant press man reps. Quick footwork and back pedal his transitions are on a dime. Has a burst laterally and forward coming out of his pedal. Shows leaping ability that allows him to match larger receivers. In off man and outside zone, his cushion is precise and he can undercut route breaks with sudden twitch. Quick to plant and drive with the ball in the air and is decisive going for the interception. Excellent ball skills, he times his hands to the catch point and has made plays on the ball trailing across the field. Plays outside zone with good vision to see the quarterback’s delivery key and balance receivers. Has been a solid flat defender as a slot corner. When playing press man he is mostly reactive, not showing much of a jam. Uses his quickness and agility to match double moves off the line. Willing in run support, his burst gets him downhill to make tackles on the perimeter. Effective launching into tackles with an explosive gather and strike. Wraps up but has been dragged for extra yards at times. Perimeter blockers give him trouble as he can get covered up. In playing tight man can get grabby at times. His versatility will be attractive as he was the nation’s best punt and kick returner with an extreme burst and agility in traffic. Also played some receiver showing speed and a catch radius of a bigger player.
