Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about ABRAHAM LUCAS:

Washington State, 6063 315 4.92. Four-year starter, Everett, WA. Earned All-Pac 12 honors all four seasons, first team the last two seasons. Lucas is a highly experienced and accomplished right tackle who checks all the boxes when it comes to the tools and physical skill set. He is a superb pass blocker that does a lot of the little things right on a repeated basis. His footwork and body control, both in space and while engaged with the defender, are consistent. Not the best natural athlete, and it does show up on occasion, but he rarely abandons his techniques and there is a presence of denseness to him. Plays strong and heavy when things are lined up. His issues, which center around consistent bend and hand-timing, are very correctable. Should be a starting right tackle in the league by his second year with a long career in the league. Hosts the prototype-frame with a high level of athletic twitch and burst. Minimal bad weight on his 315-plus pound body. Plus-thickness throughout his lower half. Has quick feet with an upright torso and active hands. Strong presence on the edge that will cut the corner off while also being ready to redirect inside. Stays under control, stays within himself. Excels with the combo blocks in the running game. Shows an easy, natural transition when working up to the second level. Solid control and balance. Bend is there below the waist. Keeps his knees and ankles flexed while moving at a high rate of speed in pass protection. Pad level gets inconsistent. Does not always trust his base and it leads to multiple pad level issues. Hands tend to get wide. Needs to do a better job of striking the defender rather than simply catch him. Late to latch on and does not have enough natural athletic ability to always make up for it. Needs more overall power and strength, does not get a consistent push in the running game.

OSR:6/51. Second/third round. (A-33 7/8, H-10 1/2, BP-24, 10-1.72).
