Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about ALEC PIERCE:
Cincinnati, 6031 211 4.33. Three-year starter, Glen Ellyn, IL. Earned second team All-AAC honors in 2021. An accomplished jumper and volleyball player in high school, he has the kind of explosiveness and straight line burst to pose as a downfield threat at the next level. Averaged over 17.5 yards per catch over his four-year career. His linear movement and plus-length can be a dangerous weapon for a vertical passing offense looking to add an outside threat. He is not the twitchiest underneath route runner and there are occasional issues with his ability after the catch when it comes to innovation and creating extra yards, but in his lane he can be a solid player. He will be role-specific, but in that role, he has traits that are hard to find. Physical gem when considering the secondary set of tools beyond an-already impressive set of tools. Plays big and strong, but also shows explosive leaping ability in traffic. Tracks the ball, attacks it, and will out-effort many defensive backs. A hard-nosed, blue collar football player. Can maintain his strength and control when in contact with the defender. A natural when it comes to ball skills and finishing out the play. A master of the contested catch. Gets after the ball with his hands with top notch coordination. Does the little things without the ball that matter like blocking, timing his breaks, and reading a secondary. Athleticism does not show up as much in small areas. Gets a little tight hipped on double routes. Acceleration will not gain the separation initially that quarterbacks want. Did not make a lot happen after the catch.
2021 stats: 52-884 17.0 ypr, 8 TD. OSR:6/33. Fourth/fifth round. (A-33, H-9, VJ-40.5, SS-4.31).
