Nebraska, 6027 303 4.91. Junior entry, three-year starter, Beatrice, NE. Third-team All-Big 10 in 2021. After beginning his career as a tight end, he moved to center full time prior to the 2019 season. When it comes to speed and overall athleticism, Jurgens stands out on tape. He can burst post-snap in any direction and make solid contact with targets in-line and in space. Zone blocking schemes where linemen are required to move laterally in a hurry will be drawn to him. The issue will be a lack of power and sustainability. He will need time to enhance his anchor-strength and grip. If that develops and he continues to improve his feel for angles, Jurgens can be a quality starting center. Elite burst off the line and speed in space. Has a fast-twitched lower half that can swallow up a lot of space in a hurry. Natural athleticism that is a weapon as a lead blocker in space. Can pull from his starting position and easily reach the edge in time. Solid initial contact, bending his target back and making an explosive impact. Still relatively new to the offensive line and lacks a fully developed skill set. Does not get his hips in the hole and his grip strength isn’t enough to stay between the defender and action. Lacks sustainability. Overshoots his target, plays too fast for his own good. Needs to break himself down and control his center of mass.
