Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JOSH PASCHAL:
Kentucky, 6025 268 4.77. Three-year starter, Prince George’s County, MD. Earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2021. Missed the 2018 season after being diagnosed with malignant melanoma. Came back and ended up being the only three-time team captain in school history. Paschal is a powerful and relentless versatile down lineman who can be moved in and out. His power and pad level can hold gap integrity. The sudden, violent punch stands the blocker up and will give him a lot of initial wins. Beyond that point, however, he shows a lack of speed and explosion that could limit his impact on a passing game. Not long or fast enough to play outside all the time. Brings a blue-collar approach to the field and can help the front in specific situations. The physical shortcomings will likely prevent a consistent impact. If he can be a sub-package defender that is moved around based on matchups and situations, he will fully earn the paycheck, but teams should not expect a constant starter’s level of production. Has developed man strength from head to toe. Rarely loses in the power game because of hard contact, tremendous pad level, and a fighter’s mentality. High effort player that gets out of his stance with high intensity. Accelerates off blocks with an aggressive forward lean to the ball. Reads the action well and is powerful enough to get himself heading in the right direction. Rarely loses gap integrity and will stay square and wide. Plays an assignment-savvy game but knows when to attack. High-IQ player that is lauded by coaches on and off the field. Top end speed and juice won’t win on the outside. Does not have the natural sense of sudden agility and turns at the top of the edge. Does not change direction with ease. Has some heavy mover in him. Has a hard time re-generating his rush if he gets initially beat. Acceleration and catch-up speed are not difference makers.
