Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about KENNETH WALKER III:
Michigan State, 5092 211 4.38. Junior entry, two-year starter, Arlington, TN. Starred in his one season at Michigan State after transferring from Wake Forest. The 2021 Doak Walker Award recipient, unanimous first-team All-America, and Big 10 Offensive Player of the Year. He is a no-nonsense runner that will excel between the tackles. Has enough lower body strength to complement his quick, high feet that enable him to work through traffic well. Breaks a lot of tackles and can win in space in a variety of ways. The quick-trigger acceleration and ability to make fast decisions will make him a dangerous threat as he gets through traffic. He needs a lot of work to be considered an every down player, as he is a poor blocker and does not seem to have a natural receiving skill set. That will determine just how useful he can be overall, but at the very least he will be a solid addition to an inside-running game. Thick lower body from the calves on up through the hips. Excellent downhill runner that shines between the tackles. Finds the creases and will make himself small and slippery to fit through. Keeps his feet high off the ground to avoid being tripped up. Runs through tackles with an aggressive, physical mindset but has a shiftiness to him in space as well. Picks up the extra yards and has a nose for the end zone. Situationally aware, a calculated risk taker but usually takes what the defense gives. Explodes north while protecting the ball high and tight. Shows some hip stiffness. Leans toward linear-type movement and it shows up when he tries to run laterally. Needs more innovation on the outside runs. Rarely sustains beyond initial contact. Only 24 career receptions in 33 career games. Does not show natural fluidity when catching the ball. Too much wiggle when it comes in contact with his hands.
2021 stats: 1636 yds, 6.2 ypc, 18 TD, 13 rec, 89 yds, 6.9 ypr, 1 TD. OSR:5/28. Second/third round. (A-30 3/8, H-9 1/2, BP-DNP, SS-DNP).
