Houston, 6061 283 4.88. Two-year starter, Belton, TX. Earned first-team All-AAC honors in 2021. Hall is one of the more unique players in the class. His frame suggests defensive end, but he mostly lined up inside the tackles in Houston’s hybrid front that normally had four down linemen. He can get off the ball quicker than interior blockers and also maintains a low pad level with long, stiff arms. Wins initially with powerful hands and shows another gear when he is near the ball. His unique skill set and body make him an intriguing player who can create mismatches for opposing offensive lines. Can evolve into a top tier inside pass rusher but will also provide quality run defense as well if shifted outside a gap or two. A true every down threat who is best suited for a hybrid scheme. Tall and long but plays with such high-quality knee and ankle flexion that he is nearly always the winner of the pad level game. Dense, powerful hands that pair with his stiff arms to prevent blockers from locking on. Quick to get the initial inside position and assertive with the initial punch. Shows a developed arm-over rush move that suits his straight area burst and flexibility well. Can be moved up and down the line to create mismatches across the board. Shows a nose for the action. Smells blood in the water and finds another gear as he closes in on his target. Acceleration and hustle create plays for the defense. Plays strong when he gets his hands on the ball carrier. Violent finisher with coordination in high traffic situations. Does not fit the ideal natural profile of traditional tackles or ends. Will not win with a pure speed rush along the edge. Does not always have the anchor to defend the inside run. Struggles with secondary rush moves if he is initially beat. Lacks some lateral wiggle and shake.
