Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JAHAN DOTSON:

Penn State, 5105 178 4.41. Four-year starter, Nazareth, PA. Left Penn State top five in program history across all major career receiving records. Earned second-team All-Big 10 honors in 2021, third team in 2020. Was a high school state champion long jumper and anchor in the 4x100 meter relay and brings elite movement in all directions. His burst, quickness, and acceleration give him constant space to work with. He can run himself open on all levels of the route tree and once the ball is in the air, his ability to seal the deal with a catch is as good as it gets. His hands are like magnets to the ball and the body control is always there. His lack of size and contact presence can hinder his impact in specific situations, but he often played bigger than what he looks like. Add the dynamic ability with the ball in his hands after the catch and in the return game, he has potential to be a game-changing force at the next level. Impeccable footwork as both a route runner and pass catcher. Constantly puts himself in ideal positioning to produce his most ideal result. Has such sure, sharp cuts out of his breaks. Elite foot-in-ground explosion when he needs to change direction. Body is always under control even when he is moving at his highest rate of speed. Hands and ball skills are both top shelf. Snags the ball and immediately controls it upon contact. The action around him seems slow. Manipulates the spacing and angles in relation to defenders with ease. Very bendy, but sturdy and stable body. Finds a way to get the job done. Can find another gear when needed and shows elite reaction-based quickness. Adds solid punt return value. Plays small against contact. Will get thrown off his center of gravity too simply by a physical defender. Overall catch radius won’t give the passer a lot of wiggle room. Needs to show more urgency off the line. Will give up too much space when avoiding press corners.

2021 stats: 91-1182, 13.0 ypr, 12 TD, 14-104 PR, 7.4 avg. OSR:22/33. First/second round. (A-30 3/4, H-9 1/2, VJ-36, SS-DNP).
