Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about KENNY PICKETT:

Pittsburgh, 6032 217 4.67. Four-year starter, Oakhurst, NJ. Once the 10th ranked pocket passer in his high school recruiting class, Pickett saved his best year of college football for his last, garnering AFCA & Walter Camp first-team All-America honors, as well as ACC Player of the Year, both overall and offensive, and finishing as a finalist for amongst many others the O’Brien Award, the Heisman Memorial Trophy, and the Maxwell Award. After back-to-back 13 touchdown/nine interception seasons, Pickett threw 42 touchdown passes to only seven interceptions last fall. Athletic with the ability to stress defenses with his running ability when scrambling. Average arm strength, hindered by mechanical flaw, shows a tendency to throw off of the back foot, not transferring weight through hips leads directly to low velocity on deep balls. Most accurate throws are on the run. Accurate on all three levels, even when feet are not set. Displays leadership and moxie late in games. Inconsistent anticipation and timing lead to questions about a lack of fluidity in making it through a progression and a number of scrambles tied to a tendency to be late in his reads. Consistent velocity on intermediate throws. Showed accuracy in quick game and intermediate throws, as well as the tendency to clear the pocket unnecessarily prematurely, often after clearing his second read. Shows willingness to get to check-down at times. Fluid athleticism and throwing mechanics displayed on run/pass option style throws. Decent height and body size but small hand measurements will create difficulties in cold weather games and situations. Will scramble into bad positions from time to time, and will overextend plays into sacks due to tendency to scramble instead of operating out of the pocket. A generous grade of a career back-up who will benefit from the low ceiling of the position group in a below average year.

2021 stats: 334/497, 4319 yds, 67.2%, 42 TD, 7 INT, 241 yds rushing, 5 TD, 165.3 QB rating. Ball velocity 54 mph. OSR:3/9. First/second round. (A-30 7/8, H-8 1/2, VJ-33.5, SS-4.31).
