Ended his tenure at Iowa as a first-team All-America and Rimington Trophy winner in addition to being named a finalist for both the Rotary Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy. The three-time All-Big 10 honoree and 2021 Big-10 Offensive Lineman of the Year should be an immediate starter in the NFL. His game best suits an offense that employs a zone blocking scheme. His natural quickness and agility while maintaining body control and leverage is a weapon in the running game. Can reach players and angles that many centers cannot. He is a force on the move that will win battles against both defensive linemen and linebackers alike. There is some bad tape on him when it comes to pass protection and power blocking straight ahead. He plays light and lacks a sturdy anchor. Teams will need to offer him help in those situations and he will need to improve his overall technique there, as he often loses his center of mass and will face the ground. Will likely be a long-time leader of an offensive line. Exceptional foot speed when moving laterally. Can reach the outside gaps in a hurry without giving ground. Reaches his point quickly and brings the inside hand positioning with solid body control. Elite suddenness post-snap. Hands are lightning-quick and show minimal-to-no wasted motion on his first two steps. Will get on his man while moving but also maintain his control and momentum. Assignment savvy and smart. Will stick to the chest plate, eyes facing forward and knees bent. Feisty and aggressive. Slightly undersized, even for the position. Needs to improve his lower body strength, as he will lose his anchor in a hurry against a quality bull rusher. Far better on the move than he is in a phone booth. Will give too much, too soon in pass protection. Has a tendency to overextend when engaged with his man in a crowd. Will get caught having his numbers face the ground. Needs to keep the lower body more engaged and active when in a shoving match. May not get enough vertical push against defensive linemen.
