Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JAMESON WILLIAMS:

Alabama, 6014 179 4.24. Junior entry, one year starter, St. Louis, MO. Spent two seasons at Ohio State where he started six games. First team All-SEC and first team All-America in 2021. Finished the season number three on the program’s all-time single season receiving list behind only DeVonta Smith (2020) and Amari Cooper (2014). He plays fast and smooth. His ability to call on different gears at any point, whether he is running routes or carrying the ball, can change an offense. No wasted movement. To match that athleticism is an aggressive mindset and gamer’s mentality. Often found making downfield blocks, and was used on special teams as both a gunner and returner. A torn ACL will impact his rookie season but when it is fully recovered, we are looking at a top tier talent that can be one of the best playmakers in the NFL. Abnormally long and wiry frame whose outstretched fingers reach his knees from a standing position. Fluid and smooth, yet explosive athlete that can get behind anyone. Plays with different gears in all areas of being a receiver. Can flip a switch at any moment and simply move faster than the guy next to him. Loose lower half aids him as a route runner and ball carrier. Can twist and torque his body while moving at a high rate of speed. Sinks his hips to tap the brakes, will plant that foot in the ground, and explode. Does a nice job of selling routes. Times his in and out breaks well. Can make the spectacular catch with an enormous catch radius. Does not need to slow himself down to locate and track. Physical, high-effort player who contributed as a blocker and punt gunner. Not an easy takedown after the catch, will fight for extra yards. Has a slender body frame that shows a lack of stability. May be too flexible and explosive for his own good, creating a high risk for lower body joint injuries. Gets knocked around too easily by contact with a defender. If the release isn’t clean enough from movement alone, he can be thrown off his point too far. Had multiple concentration drops and too often allows the ball into his body. Needs to strengthen his catching skill set and make it more automatic.

2021 stats: 79-1572 19.9 ypr, 15 TD, 10-352 KOR, 35.2 avg, 2 TD. First/second round. (A-32 1/8, H-9 1/4, VJ-DNP, SS-DNP).
