Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about TREVOR PENNING:

Northern Iowa, 6071 325 4.89. Three-year starter, Clear Lake, IA. He played in both a shortened spring and full fall season in 2021. Capped off his career with first team All-MVFC and All-America honors in addition to being named a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, given to the Offensive Player of the Year in FCS. Brings immense size, power, and attitude to the trenches. He is the kind of player who can slide into a starting offensive line and change the personality up front. To say he plays nasty and physical would be an understatement. He does have a few athletic shortcomings, as he doesn’t have the ever-present foot speed and bend below the waist. However, the capabilities are there to be just good enough at minimum and his overall power and mass should be able to hide most of the issues. There is a possibility his best fit would be inside, but he should get a shot to man a starting tackle spot early in his career. Ideal blend of length and functional thickness. Square-body that remains wide from start to finish. Heavy, cinderblock hands and a lower half that can resemble tree roots. Hard guy to knock off his point when he has everything lined up. Can reach defenders laterally and do damage upon contact in the running game. Feet can move fast and quick enough. Seals the edge as an edge protector. Can play with a twitchy lower half while staying square to his target. Constantly sending his man off balance and will further the damage through the whistle. An absolute bully on the field that relishes the role of being a security guard. Straddles the line of being aggressive enough and too aggressive. Has a sense of heaviness to his movement patterns that show up on occasion. Not a natural bendy, fast-paced athlete. Will get top heavy rather than trying to mirror his man with his lower half. Vulnerable to double moves and struggles to sustain quality contact in space as a pass blocker. Inconsistent lateral blocker in the running game. Consistency of overall body positioning needs to be cleaner. Too many penalties that stem from mental mistakes.

OSR:1/51. First/second round. (A-34 1/4, H-10 1/8, BP-29, 10-1.64).
