Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about KAYVON THIBODEAUX:

Oregon, 6040 254 4.58. Junior entry, three-year starter, Los Angeles CA. Earned first-team All-Pac 12 honors all three years, won the 2020 Morris Trophy, and landed on both the 2020 and 2021 All-America squads. Has a long, explosive frame that can bend in and out of small creases with tremendous power and strength. His lockout game combined with a strong initial burst consistently gives him initial positional advantages on blockers. Sometimes, that alone is good enough as he can work through the shoulder of a blocker with consistent ease whether he is rushing the passer or defending the run. Cut from stone with minimal-to-no bad weight. Put together well with functional strength and twitch. Derives elite power from a standstill, always able to turn it on when needed. Has an upper tier first step and is capable of turning speed into power and strength. Easy knee bender with plus ankle flexion. Can get under the blocker’s pads naturally while maintaining his brute force. Heavy hands will stifle and stand the blocker up. Does a nice job of getting and staying square to his target with easy-moving hips. Takes efficient paths to the football. Can turn the corner at a near-ninety-degree angle even when engaged with the blocker. Attacks the inside shoulder with tremendous force. Elite run defender who can stack and shed and finish plays. Pursues across the line with speed and bad intentions. Brings big time force upon contact. High effort defender. Lacks ideal girth throughout his lower body. Has some trouble adjusting to the action, hips can appear tight when he needs to move laterally in space. Needs to enhance his rush moves. Lacks variety and unpredictability. Gets swallowed by oversized tackles and doesn’t win enough on secondary moves. Needs to show more technique refinement and continue to try and strengthen his base, which plays small and gets too narrow at times. His lack of body control will cause issues as well when it comes to reaction-based action.
