Ourlads' Profile:
2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JUSTIN JONES: North Carolina State, 6024 309 5.11. Two-year starter from Austell, GA. Played a three-technique in the Wolfpack 4-3 defense. Has good arm length and strong hands. If you graded Jones on only his Senior Bowl practice week he would be a solid upper mid-round selection. He was named the defensive line practice player of the week which was impressive with all the high motor war dogs that were in Mobile. Jones flashed a variety of moves that included violent hands, a rip, and bull rush. Constantly got upfield to pressure the quarterback. Was an explosive leverage playing one-gap penetrator. Tough to block all week. Was unblockable during one-on-one drills. Rewind back to NC State and you get a different snapshot of Jones who played in a front rotation where he was always fresh. He graded out as a below average run defender. Inconsistent strength at point of attack and was late to shed. His athletic ability and quickness were average at best. He was rarely a factor for the defense’s backside. An underachiever who could be a boom or bust. 2017 stats: 33 T, 8.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 3 QBH. Edge speed:left 2.10, right 2.26. OSR:14/22. Fifth/sixth round. (A-33 1/2, H-10, BP-24, 10-1.75).
