Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about ROBERT JONES: Middle Tennessee State, 6042 319 5.38. Two-year starter, Chicago, IL. Started for two years at Highland Community College. Two-time Honorable Mention All-Conference USA. He played tackle at Middle Tennessee but will likely move back inside to guard in the NFL where he played at in junior college. He has the ideal body type for the interior and his skill set matches up there as well. Has a snappy, explosive upper body that can gain control after the initial punch. Has extra pop and the foot speed post-engagement is a plus as well. Needs to get more consistent with his technique all around before he can be put into a starting lineup, but the ceiling is there to be a solid player. Thick in all the right places with explosive upper body twitch. Will be strong and violent off the ball. Routinely redirects the defender with a sudden punch. Stays on him in phase and plays to finish. Keeps the feet moving post-contact. A good athlete that is comfortable with adjusting laterally. Keeps his knees bent naturally with his chest up and hands ready. Will sit and wait for the pass rusher to give up his intentions before aggressively attacking. Has a tendency to overset, widening his base too much. Won’t always maximize his power. Gives up too much ground pre-engagement. Needs to drop back to his spot quicker without leaning back. Inconsistent hand placement as a pass blocker. Will get caught wide with the initial punch. Sixth/seventh round. (A- 33, H-9 5/8, BP-NA, 10-1.83).
