Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about KJ BRITT: Auburn, 6001 239 4.76. Two year starter, Oxford AL. Physical at the point of attack he is quick to get downhill to fit inside gaps. Instinctive with reads and can be physical attacking blocks. Uses his hands to stun and separate from blocks straight ahead. Has alley to alley range and downhill quickness allows him to shoot through open windows and make plays in the backfield. On plays his way, scrapes off-tackle and can square up a ball carrier in space. Tackles well inline and can bring his hips driving through tackles. Has been used effectively in the blitz scheme both inside and on the edge. Anticipates the snap and has a short area burst to chase. Takes proper depth in dropping to the throwing lane but is limited to a spot drop. Often blitzes or comes off the field in passing situations. Limited man to man experience he did show some short area mirror ability at the Senior Bowl. Lower body stiffness creates a struggle to change direction quickly. As a result he will miss a tackle on a shifty back or cutback. If confronted with a block working laterally, he tends to lose leverage on the ball. Struggles to get over the top of a block from the backside and with the play moving outside. On extended man to man routes has trouble mirroring route breaks. A physical but athletically limited prospect who figures as a two down player only. His tackle to tackle run stuffing ability along with special team play will be attractive in certain schemes. 2020 stats (2 games): 23 T, 1 TFL. Sixth/seventh round. (A-30 3/4, H-9 3/8, BP-24, SS-4.40, VJ-32.5).
