Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about TOMMY DOYLE: Miami (OH), 6080 318 5.12. Four-year starter, Edina, MN. Having never played offensive line prior to arriving at Miami, Doyle has made a very impressive transition to left tackle, where he was first-team All-MAC the past two seasons. Gets his body control from playing hockey in high school. In 2018 he got his first start playing 10 games at right tackle. Has a massive frame and carries his 318 pounds with ease. His length frustrates rushers and allows him to compete with smaller, faster defensive ends. His footwork is very clean and he displays explosiveness off of the line of scrimmage. Is able to play with great balance and power in both the pass and run game. Can redirect effectively to stop blitzes and defensive line games. Shows a tendency of lunging his head on some blocks, which could be a problem for him going forward. At times he struggles with hand placement, which leads to defenders getting into this chest. Displays a high level of finish and maintains his block to the whistle. Not afraid to get after defenders in both pass and run blocking. Overall he projects as a swing tackle in a gap blocking scheme day one. Good combination of size, power, nasty, and upside. Will always struggle with elite speed off the edge, but has all the necessary traits to develop into a good starting right tackle. Fourth/fifth round. (A-35 1/8, H-10 3/8, BP-24, 10-1.76).
