Lined up most often in a wide nine alignment but has some off the ball reps and also occasionally as an overhang blitzer. Was often used as a situational rusher off the edge. Plays with a high energy motor and makes a lot of plays with second effort. Quick at the snap he engages offensive linemen with a stiff punch to separate and shed. Sets the edge run well even against powerful tackles. Has agility and excellent lateral movement on the perimeter and is a solid wrap tackler. As a pass rusher shows a variety of moves including a quick club to an arm under to get around the corner. He can go wide and counter inside with a quick burst. He has been used off the ball primarily to blitz and been effective anticipating the snap and closing in the backfield. He may have to play off the ball in the NFL as his frame is questionable how much bigger he can get. On inside runs he is easily moved out by a powerful tackle. If locked up he is slow to escape. His athletic ability may project him in coverage, but he was not used there so that will be a project. At this point he is a developmental player that may find a home on special teams and as a situational pass rusher.
