Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about NAHSHON WRIGHT: Oregon State, 6040 188 4.49. Junior entry, two-year starter, East Palo Alto, CA. Sophomore junior college transfer that made an immediate impact on the Oregon State secondary in 2019. Tall lanky prospect with a thin frame. Played deep outside zone along with press and off man. As a press corner can be physical with a two and off-hand jam. Uses long arms to disrupt release. For a tall corner is solid to mirror route breaks and stay in phase in transition. In off coverage shows quick feet and changes speeds to maintain cushion. Quick to flip his hips on turn and run. He is tough to throw over when in phase on vertical routes. Flashes a quick plant and drive with the ball in the air. Has ball skills for the pass break and interception. High points the ball with soft hands. Willing in run support he uses his long arms to create separation versus a stalk block. Has been used as an outside blitzer and created some havoc pressuring a quarterback. Normally an efficient wrap up tackler. As a zone defender he has the speed to stay deep as the deepest and close voids in the seams. Still a work in progress defending multiple routes in zone. Shows occasional hesitation in deep outside zones as he can take false steps processing route combinations. His lack of bulk can work against him versus a physical receiver as he can get pushed around working off a block or fighting for a ball. While still raw in some aspects of the game he has a skill set that makes him an attractive third day pick. 2020 stats: 30 T, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 4 PBU, 1 FF, 2 INT. Sixth/seventh round. (A-32 7/8, H-9 1/8, VJ-31, SS-4.57).
