Ourlads' Profile:

2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about SAMUEL COSMI: Texas, 6057 314 4.87. Junior entry, three-year starter, Humble, TX. Earned All Big 12 honors in 2019 and 2020. First-team All Big 12 in 2020. A tall and athletic tackle with good hand striking and fighting. Has an aggressive style that will work well in the running game. Gets a solid initial pop and is athletic enough to stay on defenders as he moves downhill. His issues consistently pop up in pass protection, however. His high hips and lack of knee bend make it very difficult for him to stay balanced and upright. There isn’t a lot of sustainable power in his legs either. He has a lot to fix before being considered a starter at the next level. Tall and lanky frame that will be able to hold more weight as he gets into a pro strength program. Shows good hand-fighting and will be able to lock onto defenders. Shows an aggressive style. Works hard to get across his man’s face in the running game. Gets a strong initial punch and shows good forward lean. Can factor as a run blocker. Quickly gets to the second level and will show glimpses of an overwhelming strike. Generates good power from both his hips and hands. Plays too high after contact. Slightly dips his head routinely on contact, especially in pass protection. That tall pad level coupled with a lean forward from the waist can really throw off his center of gravity. Balance throughout engagement is an issue. Looks really uncomfortable the further out into space he gets. Very vulnerable to double moves from defenders who have strong hands. Third/fourth round. (A-33, H-10 1/4, BP-36, 10-1.68).
