Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about TREVON MOEHRIG: TCU, 6020 202 4.52. Junior entry, two year starter, Spring Branch, TX. Tall, lanky safety whose length plays well at the position. Has been very productive playing the ball during his career. Has experience as a one and two high safety. At his best in deep zones with outstanding range and ball skills. Quick diagnosing and balancing route combinations, his fluid transitions put him in position to make a play. Normally able to read the receiver and read the quarterback delivery key. Can get over the top or move laterally to challenge a catch. Sudden to react on the throw he is physical getting to the catch point. Strong hands for high pointing interceptions and breaking up passes. Excellent range gets him to a lot of plays. He has made a lot of plays on balls in the intermediate zones. Flashes matchup skill and mirror ability. He is adept at closing and undercutting route breaks to eliminate the throwing lane. Recovers quickly if separated on a cut. In run support he tracks and adjusts moving downhill and has become much more aggressive tackling this past season. Has made some big hits. At times when matched up he puts too much focus on the quarterback and gets separated on route breaks. Due to his aggressive play reacting on the throw, he’s somewhat susceptible to double moves. In deep coverage there have been times he lets a receiver break the cushion down and run by him putting him in recovery mode. While run support has improved he still shows some inconsistency with angles and tackling. As a result he will lunge at times and barely make the tackle or miss. Has outstanding traits but still needs to develop in some areas. He has been stellar on special teams in kick coverage. Has the tools of a quality NFL safety. 2020 stats: 47 T, 2 TFL, 9 PBU, 2 INT. First/second round. (A-30 5/8, H-9 3/4, VJ-33, SS-4.19).
