Ourlads' Profile:

2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JAYCEE HORN: South Carolina, 6006 205 4.40. Junior entry, three year starter, Alpharetta, GA. Opted out of 2020 season after seven games. Good combination of length and speed. Often assigned to the opposition’s best receiver he used a variety of technique in man and zone coverage. At his best as a press corner using long arms to jam and disrupt release and control route breaks at the line. He would also be reactive in press mirroring take off and maintaining leverage. Was good at disguising coverage with press and bail in zone concepts. He often broke quickly into a lateral run at the line on the snap maintaining cushion. Plays very tight press coverage with mirror ability staying on the hip of a receiver and reacting to cuts. Normally keeps his focus on the receiver in man coverage. As a zone defender has focused eye discipline to react to multiple routes and the quarterback’s delivery key. Quick to get underneath a deep route as a short corner. In rare hard corner situations showed solid reroute skill. Balls skills are enhanced with long arms. He can get inside hand to the catch point even if he gives a little room. Rarely used a traditional pedal but when he did could get a little upright with mechanical movement showing some tightness in turn and run. Was a little grabby at times but did not observe a lot of obvious calls. Occasionally as a press corner would sneak a peek and open up a window to throw in. At times gets upright and takes the brunt of the blow on a tackle giving up yards after contact. He needs to maintain consistent focus on fundamentals. He has the tools and techniques of an elite corner who can handle the big receivers in the NFL. 2019 stats: 40 T, 2 TFL, 1 sack, 9 PBU, 2 FF. First round. (A-33, H-9 1/8, VJ-41.5, SS-NA).
