Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about MATT PEART: Connecticut, 6064 310 5.06. Four-year starter, Kingston, Jamaica. Never missed a game. First-team All AAC honors as a senior. Relatively new to the game, as he didn’t play football until high school. A physically gifted player that, when his feet are in the right place, showed dominant traits. Has incredibly strong hands with long arms and an athletic base, he simply just needs to hammer away at his lower body mechanics until they become more natural and consistent. If and when that happens, he is a starting caliber player. Has the ideal body for the position. Tall and long with an established base of thickness throughout with room to put more bulk on. Attentive to details when it comes to his technique. Keeps his hands inside with good grip strength. Can lock defenders up when he is accurate with his punch. Good contact balance when things are in front of him. Will keep his head on a swivel, very aware of what is going on laterally. Feet are capable of playing fast and active. Will lose track of the width of his base. Gets narrow which will take a bite out of his staying power. Too much focus on his hands, not enough on his feet. Has the occasional hiccup when it comes to his leaning and lunging. Will show his numbers to the ground, making balance an issue. Doesn’t always reach the edge against speed. OSR:5/41. Third/fourth round. (A-36 5/8, H-9 3/4, BP-26, 10-1.75).
