Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about MATT HENNESSY: Temple, 6040 307 5.18. Junior entry, three-year starter, Bardonia, NY. Finished 2019 as first-team All AAC. Brother of Jets’ long snapper Thomas Hennessy. A two-time team captain who was awarded a single digit jersey number for Temple, given to the team’s toughest and hardest working players. Has the look of a long time starter at center. He is a well-balanced machine who stays within himself at all times, rarely being caught off balance or out of position. If and when he adds some man-strength and bulk to his frame, he will be ready for starting duties in any scheme. He is smart and reliable with the upside of being a top-half center in the league. Has an ideal blend of stout strength and athletic ability. Plays square to his man and always appears to be in full control with proper balance, knee bend, and foot placement. An easy lower half that has mobility and flexibility. A natural athlete that responds well to whatever is thrown his way. Takes on contact in stride. Re-anchors quickly. Swings his hips into the hole as a run blocker. Won’t get movement but he does stay between the ball carrier and defender effectively and consistently. Will mirror his man while remaining in the ideal position. OSR:18/ 41. Second/third round. (A-32 3/8, H-10 1/8, BP-23, 10-1.81).
