Ourlads' Profile:

2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about JOE BURROW: LSU, 6034 221 4.75. Two-year starter, Athens, OH. Transfer from Ohio State in the spring of 2018. Set numerous NCAA, SEC and LSU records on his way to becoming the most decorated player in LSU football history and only the second Heisman Trophy winner in school history. Guided the Tigers to a 15-0 record and the CFP National Championship in 2019. Won nearly every national award for a quarterback in 2019. Unanimous All-America. Named the AP and Coaches’ SEC Offensive Player of the Year. A unanimous first-team All-SEC selection by the AP. Capped his career by completing 621/ 906 passes for 8,565 yards, 76 touchdowns and only 11 interceptions. Completed his career at LSU ranked number one in school history for career completion percentage (68.5), passing yards per game (305.9), and touchdown passes (76). Burrow is a superior blend of leadership, toughness, command of the offense and poise more reminiscent of an NFL veteran than a college senior and second year starter. He is not an elite passer and will have to be in an offense that showcases his strengths which are shorter-to-intermediate throws inside the numbers and outside verticals. However, his intangible qualities as a leader are unmatched and if his arm strength continues to improve, he has unlimited upside. He has a high football IQ and is pre snap aware through film study and has the ability to make adjustments as needed. Can read defenses and coverages. Finds the hot read and the hot player and feeds him. Able to look off his primary read and thrives if his second or third option is open. Owns the middle of the field and the ball is placed perfectly on crossing routes. Understands that not every throw has to be on a highlight reel. Trusts his receivers to make a play on 50-50 deep balls. Steps into his throws and delivers in the face of pressure. Takes some enormous hits and still looks fresh at the end of ball games. Possesses a feathery touch when he lofts the ball to one of his receivers between the corner and safety. Unquestioned leader on the field. Lacks the arm strength to zip the ball into tight windows outside the numbers. Does not throw a tight-spiral or with the velocity of some other elite prospects. Delivery and release are not explosive. Burrow’s NFL arm strength will be questioned, especially with no Combine workout by his choice and no pro day. He played behind the Joe Moore award winning offensive line and had numerous receivers who will also be playing on Sundays in the future. 2019 stats: 402/527, 5671 yds, 76.3%, 60 TD, 6 INT, 368 yds rushing, 5 TD, 201.96 QB rating. Ball velocity DNP. No Combine workout-his choice. First round. (A-30 7/8, H-9, SS-DNP, VJ-DNP).
