Pratt played safety his first two years at NC state and then red-shirted due to an injury. Made the switch for the 2017 season and was part of a rotation before starting full time in 2018. Has played inside and outside. Quick with initial read and react with lateral pursuit ability. At his best as a run and chase linebacker with sideline to sideline range. Has quick footwork with a good angle scraping to the alley. Makes plays in space and can square up a tackle. Explodes into tackles with gather and leg drive to finish. Plays the back side run with agility to get through the wash and pursue with a burst. Flashes strike and shed ability on the move. Fast twitch reactor getting into a pass drop and looking for work. Sees the threats and quarterback. Smooth to flip his hips and get in the throwing lane. Adept at playing high/low routes. Sudden reactions on the throw with good production getting to balls and limiting short pass gains. Has the speed to cover tight ends and backs on extended routes. Shows some blitz potential hitting gaps and coming off the edge. Not a natural knee bender and struggles with hand usage and pad level taking on straight up blocks.
