Tall lanky prospect with a lot of length but not bulk. Undersized for defensive end but has the athletic ability to play linebacker. Primarily a pass rusher but he projects well to a 3-4 outside backer in the NFL. Has explosive first step quickness to go with outstanding speed to chase and get around the corner in the pass rush. Has a variety of pass rush moves including a swim move to get by an offensive tackle. Quick to counter and has a nice bend and squeeze around a tackle. His speed to close on the quarterback creates havoc. Teams have to scheme the protection to control him. He creates more problems than his numbers indicate. Versus the run he is at his best chasing and making plays in pursuit. Uses his long arms to ward off blocks on the move and does a nice job sifting through the wash to find the ball. He is athletic with solid lateral movement and change of direction. Makes plays in space with fundamental tackling skill. Struggles with powerful blockers when the play is right at him and lacks the functional strength to hold the point of attack consistently. Too easily locked up when a blocker gets into him. Will also have to put on some quality weight and strength moving forward. In making the move to linebacker he will have to develop pass cover skill but definitely has the athletic ability. Has tremendous upside and many teams will see him as a first round pick. 2018 stats: 52 T, 15.5 TFL, 10 sacks, 3 PBU, 8 QBH, 3 FF. Edge speed:left 2.06, right 2.21. OSR:5/31. First round.
