Ourlads' Profile:

2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about QUINNEN WILLIAMS: Alabama, 6030 303 4.83. One year starter and third year sophomore entry from Birmingham, AL. Was off the radar entering 2018, as his impact as a red-shirt freshman in 2017 wasn’t until late in the year. When it comes to his play on the field, Williams helped his stock as much as any player in the class. The All-American was a dominant force week after week. The standout defender on a loaded Alabama defense. He is a tough assignment to block because he can alter his approach snap to snap. It is hard to find such elite levels of play across multiple styles. The speed-to-power will immediately become one of the best in the league. A scheme that will let him penetrate through different lanes and angles will benefit from Williams in a way where their entire defense will be elevated. He is a big time difference maker right away. Immediate elite power out of his starting stance. Creates force on contact from a standstill as if he had a 10-yard running start. Built low to the ground with a squatty frame and easy knee bend. Straight line burst is coupled with agility and phone-booth quickness. He can run through blockers or around them to avoid contact altogether. Rare combination of talents. Slippery like a bar of soap, powerful like a bulldozer. Works hard to pursue the action to the sideline, stays hungry. Will struggle to hold the point as a stay-at-home defender, notably against double teams. May need to be a penetration-only type lineman. Will have a tendency to allow long-armed blockers to get their hands on first. Still has some technique-based shortcomings with his footwork and hands that didn’t impact him in college but will in the pros. 2018 stats: 71 T, 19.5 TFL, 8 sacks, 1 PBU, 12 QBH. Edge speed:left 1.96, right 2.09. OSR:2/21. First round. (A-33 1/4, H-9 5/8, BP-DNP, 10-1.66).
