The awareness and consistent ability to use his body to shield opponents from the ball is a massive weapon on third downs and near the end zone. After the catch, he has a way of carrying defenders on his back for extra yards. Dominates defensive backs and linebackers as a blocker. He can engulf them and has the foot speed to stay with them in space. His issues arise when he lines up in the trenches, something he simply didn’t do often in the OU offense. He comes off the ball hesitant, borderline even skittish, when matched up against linemen. He is late and inaccurate with his hands and the effort isn’t always there. As many highlight reel catches as he will make, there is an equal amount of drops on easy balls. There are concentration and hustle issues that may stem from poor conditioning.
