Ourlads' Profile:

2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about TAYLOR MOTON: Western Michigan, 6053 319 5.20. Four-year starter, three at right tackle and one year at right guard. From Okemos, MI. Earned first-team All-MAC honors after moving back to right tackle in 2016. Lost 11 pounds between the Senior Bowl and the Combine. The best thing he does is pass protect. He can really anchor in the pocket. Plays in a two-point stance. Spread offensive scheme. A jumbo offensive lineman who can crush the down defender when he blocks back to create a seam. At tackle he occupies and controls the defensive end with his long arms and sizeable hands. He is powerful enough to decleat a lackadaisical pass rusher. The ex-Mustang has the feet to drive block a defender off the ball, set quickly in pass protection, or fold around and seal a play side linebacker. A good athlete despite his considerable size. When he bends his knees and plays in a football leverage position he is tough to move. Will have problems with edge speed and quickness if he is not focused. Needs technique work for the next level. Can take violent hits and keep himself from being moved off balance. Will stick to his man when initially beat and is able to ride him out. Struggles with speed and quickness and to adjust his weight to his inside foot. Susceptible to double moves. Needs to show more consistent footwork and hand control. Moton may not have the ideal footwork and fluidity to play outside in the NFL, but his power presence and hand strength can make up for some shortcomings. It’s possible his ideal future is inside at guard, where a team can take advantage of his elite power and strength. Will need to continue to work on his foot speed and reaction time before he can be trusted. Senior Bowl notes: Played right tackle in college but looks like a good guard fit. May have to play on the edge in 2017 because of the lack of quality tackles. Will need to improve his footwork if he is to play at tackle. Good showings during one-on-one pass rush drills. OSR:7/ 41. Second/third round. (A-34 1/8, H-10 3/4, BP-23, 10-1.85).
