Ourlads' Profile:

2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about TJ WATT: Wisconsin, 6044 252 4.68. Junior entry from Pewaukee, WI. One-year starter. Played in 13 games as a red-shirt sophomore. Did not play in 2014 due to injury. Earned second-team All-America and first-team All-Big 10 honors. Younger brother of three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, JJ Watt and 2016 draft choice Derek Watt, the Chargers’ starting fullback. Looks lean at 252 pounds. Can gain more good weight and not lose a step. More advanced than most incoming rookies with technique and mechanics. Already has a pro player’s approach to getting off the line and in position to defeat one-on-one blockers. Quick and twitchy. Has a plan every time he gets off the ball. Huge strong hands, long arms, and more than enough flexibility. Can bend at the knees. Understands the nuances to the position. Football smart. Relentless motor and pursuit add to his production. Needs to develop more power from his lower body. Initially came to Wisconsin as a tight end and red-shirted his freshman year. He then missed all of 2014 with a knee injury and was limited throughout the 2015 offseason with another injury to his opposite knee. This past fall was his only real full season as a starter for the Badgers. His frame and style of play screams 3-4 outside linebacker or 4-3 defensive end as long as he can put on the weight he needs. Is short on talent but as advanced as a college player can be when it comes to technique, smarts, and phone booth movement. Dark horse prospect. 2016 stats: 63 T, 15.5 TFL, 11.5 sacks, 4 PBU, 13 QBH, 2 FF, 1 INT. Edge speed:left 1.71, right 1.90. OSR:2/51. First/second round. (A- 33 1/8, H-11, BP-21, SS-4.14).
