QB

Gardner Minshew – JAX (6th round)

The surprise of the year at the QB position gave us one last eye opening performance and will officially put a QB controversy on the menu for the 2020 JAX offseason.  He beat IND with a 27/39 – 295 yard – 3 TD/1 INT performance.

RB

David Montgomery – CHI (3rd round)

Albeit against the MIN backups, Montgomery put forth arguably his top performance of the season in CHI’s victory.  He finished with 113 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.

WR (2)

AJ Brown – TEN (2nd round)

The red hot finish to Brown’s rookie season gave us one last look and one last reason why he should win the Rookie of the Year Award.  In a game they had to have, Brown had 124 yards on 4 catches with yet another long touchdown.

Hunter Renfrow – OAK (5th round)

Renfrow caught 6 passes for 102 yards and was inches away from a second touchdown.  He was the go-to guy as the closing moments of the game arrived, as Carr hit him in the end zone for the score that put them within 1 in the final seconds of the game.

TE

Kaden Smith – NYG (6th round)

In a game that actually had some postseason ramifications against a really hungry team, Smith stood out as the top NYG target and led the team in both catches and yards with a 8/98 line.  He has more than earned a spot on this team moving forward especially considering the starter, Evan Engram, has shown issues staying healthy.

OT (2)

Jawaan Taylor – JAX (2nd round)

Taylor began a little slow but he ended the game strong and officially became the only rookie from the 2019 rookie class to play 100% of his team’s snaps.

Trey Pipkins – LAC (3rd round)

Pipkins didn’t play a strong game by any means, but rookie tackles around the league struggled and Pipkins did make an impact as a run blocker.  His pad level and balance were a bit off in pass protection but besides 2 ugly plays (1 leading to a sack), he gave some hope to a position group that has been abysmal in LAC for a couple years.

OG (2)

Elgton Jenkins – GB (2nd round)

Jenkins really cemented himself into this spot for most of the year and he should be in the running for Rookie of the Year.  He came up big in GB’s comeback road victory to lock up the #2 seed against a tough DET defensive front.

Nate Davis – TEN (3rd round)

Davis deserves some recognition as TEN clinched their spot in the playoffs with a road win in HOU.  He got a lot of movement up front as Derrick Henry earned the NFL’s rushing championship and his pass protection footwork has come a long way since early in the year.

OC

Erik McCoy – NO (2nd round)

The rock in the middle for the NFL’s 3rd highest scoring offense had one of his best game’s in NO’s dominating win over CAR.  He is a key reason why the NO running game is waking up at the right time and Drew Brees remains clean for most of every game.

EDGE (2)

Montez Sweat – WAS (1st round)

Sweat really ended the year strong and there is reason for optimism in the nation’s capital as he appears to be a building block at a key position.  He finished with 5 tackles / 2 sacks / 2 pressures / 1 FF against a formidable offensive line.

Maxx Crosby – OAK (4th round)

Crosby once again looked like the best rookie on that OAK squad with a strong finish in DEN.  He finished with a line of 5 tackles / 1.5 sacks / 1 PD / 1 FF.

DT (2)

Armon Watts – MIN (6th round)

Watts didn’t see the field a lot as a rookie but when he did, he opened eyes.  This is actually the second time he made the all rookie team and in a game where he set his high in snaps plays, Watts finished with 3 tackles / 1 sack / 1 TFL.

Ed Oliver – BUF (1st round)

The active and disruptive Oliver made life difficult for the struggling Jets' offense in poor weather.  His range in pursuit and burst off the ball were able to at least somewhat hide his size and power deficiencies.  He had 4 tackles and 1 TFL.

LB (2)

Dre Greenlaw – SF (5th round)

Greenlaw has quietly become one of the most important rookies on this team and ended the year as the second leading tackler.  He has been a machine lately, finishing their huge Sunday night tilt with 13 tackles / 1 TFL / 1 QB Hit.

Devin White – TB (1st round)

White was a quiet force against Matt Ryan and the passing game all afternoon which you won’t find in the box score.  But what you will find is the fumble recovery he scooped up and returned for 91 yards where he got to show off his elite level speed.  He added 5 tackles.

CB (2)

Byron Murphy – ARZ (2nd round)

Murphy has been competing since day 1 and ARZ has a true building block for the future at a vital position.  He finished with 7 tackles / 1 TFL / 1 PD and showed a versatile coverage skill set against the formidable LAR passing attack.

Amani Oruwariye – DET (5th round)

The Lions have been pleasantly surprised by the 5th rounder from Penn State and how fast he progressed into a quality corner.  Oruwariye had 4 tackles / 1 INT / 1 PD against GB.  The interception was a true testament to his top tier height, length, and leaping ability.

S (2)

Taylor Rapp – LAR (2nd round)

Rapp helped shut down the diverse ARZ passing game and finished with 6 tackles / 1 INT / 1 PD / 1 FR.  The rookie showed a constant knack for being around the action in college and it has been no different in the NFL.

Will Harris – DET (3rd round)

Harris was quietly one of the top rookie defensive backs in the NFL over the second half and his multi-faceted approach to the game will help this defense a lot moving forward.  He finished with 4 tackles / 1 sack / 1 PD against GB.
