All-Rookie Team - WEEK 13

Dave Syvertsen, Senior Draft Analyst
12/13/2023 3:50PM ET

QB

Will Levis / TEN (Round 2)

Despite the emotional overtime loss to the Colts, Levis put out a clutch performance, throwing for 204 yards on 16/33. His biggest throw of the day came in the fourth quarter, down six. On second and goal, Levis evaded pressure by altering his footwork but maintained his eyes down the middle and hit DeAndre Hopkins with a bullseye throw. Unfortunately, a special teams' injury led to the missed extra point, preventing this from being a game-winning score.

Honorable Mention: CJ Stroud / HOU

RB

Zach Charbonnet / SEA (Round 2)

With Kenneth Walker III sidelined, Charbonnet has had the opportunity for more usage and he is the kind of back who needs more touches to reach his ceiling of effectiveness. He set a season high 60 yards rushing with a touchdown and added a 39-yard reception that was all him after the catch. The 99 total yards on 20 touches were the most we have seen out of him this year.

Honorable Mention: De'Von Achane / MIA

WR

Puka Nacua / LAR (Round 5)

It was Nacua’s fifth 100-yard game of the season. He did so on just four catches including a 70-yarder and had another explosive play called off by a penalty. He also added another 34 yards on two carries in the Rams' win over Cleveland.

Honorable Mention: Parker Washington / JAX

TE

Sam LaPorta / DET (Round 2)

Remember back to last April and we concluded the 2023 tight end class finished the grading process as one of the best ever. LaPorta has been the cream of the crop all year and he put out his top performance of his impressive rookie season against the Saints. He caught all 9 targets for a season-high 141 yards and a touchdown. He broke four tackles after the catch and had a 48-yard catch in there, a season high. The rest of the Lions' pass catchers gained 73 yards on 7 catches.

Honorable Mention: Tucker Kraft / GB

OT

Paris Johnson / ARZ (Round 1)

The Cardinals dismantled the Steelers on the road. One of the bigger upsets of the weekend was largely a result of the Cardinals' offensive line controlling the point of attack. The Arizona running backs averaged five yards per carry and while Johnson did allow a sack, he stonewalled TJ Watt for most of the afternoon.

Honorable Mention: Dawand Jones / CLE

OG/OC

Juice Scruggs / HOU (Round 2)

It’s been a long start to Scruggs’ career but now that he is healthy, the starting job at left guard appears locked up. On 38 pass block snaps, he allowed just one hurry and provided good push in the running game.

Honorable Mention: Peter Skoronski / TEN

ED

Will Anderson / HOU (Round 1)

The rookie class Houston put together is changing this franchise’s trajectory in a blink. Anderson makes the All-Rookie team yet again with arguably his top performance of the season. He recorded his first two-sack game of his career and matched a season high with 8 pressures. He also had 3 tackles and batted a pass at the line.

Honorable Mention: Byron Young / LAC

DT

Calijah Kancey / TB (Round 1)

On just 26 pass rush snaps, Kancey hit the quarterback twice and added three hurries. He also added 2 tackles, both of which were stops for the defense. The undersized, but quick-footed three-tech is getting more and more comfortable with snap anticipation and secondary rush moves.

Honorable Mention: Keeanu Benton / PIT

LB

Jack Campbell / DET (Round 1)

The Saints averaged just 3.1 yards per carry against the Lions.  They tried 36 times and just could not get the ground game going. Campbell led the team with 8 tackles, 4 of which went for stops and he added a pressure.

Honorable Mention: Drew Sanders / DEN

CB

Carrington Valentine / GB (Round 7)

Valentine has been opening eyes since August. He earned a starting role early on in the secondary because of injuries but his play on the field has been a steady incline to the point where it is now assumed this will be his job for good. He allowed just two completions for 20 yards and he broke up a pass in their win against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Honorable Mention: Christian Izien / TB

S

Brian Branch / DET (Round 2)

The top rookie safety put out another big time performance in the Lions' home win over the Saints. He makes the third member of the team to finish on this week’s roster. Branch had 7 tackles and an interception, his first since week one.

Honorable Mention: Ji’Ayer Brown / SF
